I have been listening to tons of great music lately, just haven’t had enought time to process and post it. My listening tastes have definitely gravitated to the alt.country side of the force in the last month or so. Great bands like The Gougers, Oakley Hall, The Delafields, and The Robber Barons have really caught ear with their genre bending sounds. I have also been listening to other great indie (non-alt.country) bands like The Hold Steady, Marsupial, Sol Driven Train, Earthbound, Stephen Simmons, and my-favorite-band-of-the-year The National. Hope you are taking notes, because chances are, if I just listed a band’s name you are going to see something from them in the near future. However, to keep from getting into that alt.country rut, my next post will surprise you.
