Shinjak’s Listening Lounge

Thanks go to Music Is Art for originally posting this session.

The Verve reunited last fall and played their first recording session together in nine years at nme.com. The result was a very hypnotic ride across the Floydian abyss into the eye of the storm. Enjoy the ride.

The Verve - The Thaw Session

Apparently the band brought down the proverbial house at Glastonbury this past weekend:

Band fan AtomicPope has created an archive of live recordings from The Everybodyfields (with the band’s permission, of course).  Here is the link: www.livearchive.org/ebf/ The shows are in flac format, so remember that friends don’t let friends trade mp3’s.  And no, the band is not on that live archive yet, in case you were wondering.

Here are some samples of a show from Tennessee Tech University:

The Everybodyfields 2008-03-27 - Worker’s Playtime

The Everybodyfields 2008-03-27- Welcome To The Machine > Be Miner

The Everybodyfields 2008-03-27 - Aeroplane

Show the band some love and go check out their live show:

Mr. K On Ocracoke Island

June 26th, 2008

Mr. K At Ocracoke 08

Mr.K And The Famous are apparently spending the summer on the lovely North Carolina barrier island of Ocracoke. If you’re heading to the Outer Banks this weekend, catch the ferry over to Ocracoke (the only way in or out) and catch one of these shows:

Jun 28 2008 8:00P - Ocracoke Community Center Ocracoke, North Carolina
Jun 30 2008 7:00P - The Pelican Ocracoke, North Carolina
Jul 1 2008 7:00P - The Pelican Ocracoke, North Carolina
Jul 2 2008 7:00P - The Pelican Ocracoke, North Carolina
Aug 8 2008 7:00P - The Pelican Ocracoke, North Carolina
Aug 9 2008 10:00P - Mango Loco Ocracoke, North Carolina

The band has also been spending some time in the studio laying down some new versions of old songs and just some plain new songs.  Hopefully this means their is a new album on the horizon (which will hopefully also be available online!).  The addition of a new lead vocalist lends some soul to the bands sound. Have a listen:
