I’ve discussed The Hype Machine at some length on New Music Strategies, but essentially it’s an mp3 blog aggregator.

MP3 bloggers are among the new, important opinion leaders in the online environment. It’s now arguably just as important to get the bloggers talking about your music as it is to get your music into the mainstream press. Because although readerships are typically much lower in the online world, it’s a networked world — and that massively amplifies word-of-mouth.

Go search on your band, or a band like yours on the Hype Machine, and find out who the bloggers are that you need to be building relationships with.
